Membership to CARA
The Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to expand, motivate,
support and celebrate the running community of Chicagoland. CARA connects runners to resources that enable them
to run ~ further, faster, better, for life.

Discounts to CARA Circuit or registered races
Discounts to various running specialty shoe stores (at least 10% off)
Receive CARA Member E-Newsletters keeping you informed of running related great information
Running Circuit available for age group or Clydesdale competition

Membership Details
Membership is good for 1 or 2 years from the time you join based on the option you select. Your
membership card and other items will be mailed within approximately 4-6 weeks. Family membership covers
individuals who live at the same address. A renewal notice will be sent to you approximately 1 month
before your membership expires.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Memberships
In addition to regular CARA benefits, you will receive:
Gold -- $185 tax deduction, CARA T-shirt, CARA hat, and Gold lapel pin
Silver -- $85 tax deduction, CARA T-shirt, CARA socks, Silver lapel pin
Bronze -- $35 tax deduction, CARA T-shirt, Bronze lapel pin
All three groups are also recognized annually with a listing in Chicago Runner magazine.
Deductions are taken as a charitable expense under Section 501-c-3 of the IRS code.
