Membership to CARA
The Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes
health and fitness through recreational running and competitive racing. We provide comprehensive
training programs, clinics, group runs, events, and awards for all levels of runners, administer
a circuit of high-quality road races, publish extensive running and racing information, and act
as the runner's advocate for safe, quality conditions in races and on area paths. Members also
get great discounts at running stores and at CARA races.

Membership Details
Membership is good for 1 or 2 years from the time you join based on the option you select.
Your membership card and other items will be mailed within approximately 1 week. Family membership
covers individuals who live at the same address. A renewal notice will be sent to you approximately
1 month before your membership expires.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Memberships
In addition to regular CARA benefits, you will receive:
Gold -- $185 tax deduction, CARA T-shirt, CARA hat, and Gold lapel pin
Silver -- $85 tax deduction, CARA T-shirt, CARA socks, Silver lapel pin
Bronze -- $35 tax deduction, CARA T-shirt, Bronze lapel pin
All three groups are also recognized annually with a listing in Chicago Runner magazine.
Deductions are taken as a charitable expense under Section 501-c-3 of the IRS code.
