2004 Clydesdale Circuit Rules & Application

  1. You must be a CARA member to participate at the time you register for Clydesdale competition and at the end of the season. Your Clydesdale Circuit application must be on file in the CARA office no later than the mid-point of the season – August 1, 2003. No Clydesdale registrations will be accepted after that date.
  2. Only races on the 2004 CARA Race Circuit are included in the Clydesdale Circuit (CARA-Registered races are not included).
  3. Scoring for the Clydesdale Circuit will be done uniformly for all races. Some races, additionally, may have their own Clydesdale competition – those are conducted separately from the CARA Clydesdale Circuit and do not affect Circuit scoring. You will be scored in the same weight division for all races, based on your weigh-in weight.
  4. You do not have to report your finishing times. The Clydesdale scorer will verify all results for all Circuit races.
  5. You must run at least seven (7) races and your ten (10) best finishes will be used for overall results. The Clydesdale Circuit will be scored and administered by the same rules and procedures used for CARA age group competition – 15 points for 1st place in your division, 14 points for 2nd, etc., down to 15th place.
  6. You will be considered in the Masters class if your 40th birthday is on or before August 1, 2004.
  7. Weigh-ins. Your weight division must be verified once during the season – on or before August 1, 2004. You may weigh-in on race day at any Circuit race EXCEPT the LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle, where the weigh-in will be conducted at the CARA booth at the EXPO. You may also weigh-in at the CARA office any week day between 9:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. other than holidays. Runners who do not weigh in the required number of times will be dropped from the standings and all scores will be recalculated.
  8. You may NOT win year-end CARA age group and CARA Clydesdale division awards. You may score points in both, but if you qualify for awards in each, you must pick one.
  9. Clydesdale standings will be posted in the CARA Race Info section of the CARA web site – www.CARAruns.org – and at the CARA table at Circuit races. Standings will not be mailed.
